About Realityaversion

Reality can be tiresome. There is so much of it. Often there is so much of it that it’s hard to deal with on all sorts of levels.

As if reality itself weren’t enough, today we are bombarded with reproductions of reality; visual facsimiles of the already overwhelming world around us.

The popular pursuit of imagery that simply strives for greater fidelity in reproducing the world, in all of its paradoxically intricate mundanity, serves only to frustrate.

To remove detail is to escape; yet to render detail into chaos is to explain the mindset of those for whom escapism is a fundamental need.

This work strives to represent that particular version of reality, and in doing so to confront that equally particular aversion to it.
